THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK
In a small village called Sunderpur lived a mischievous
and clever thief named Ravi. Ravi was known for his skill in stealing valuables
from the villagers. He was quick, clever and always managed to escape from the
clutches of the village police officer, Inspector Raj.
Inspector Raj was a dedicated and honest officer who
worked tirelessly to maintain law and order in Sunderpur. He was well aware of
Ravi's notorious activities and was determined to nab him and put an end to his
thieving tendencies.
One fateful day, Ravi hatches a plan to distract
Inspector Raj from his work. He cleverly steals a precious diamond necklace
from the mayor's mansion and then puts it in Inspector Raj's house. When the
theft is discovered the next morning, there is chaos and the blame falls on
Inspector Raj.
The news of the incident spread throughout Sunderpur and
the villagers, shocked and disheartened, began criticizing Inspector Raj for
his alleged involvement in the theft. Ravi takes advantage of this opportunity
to further his plan and starts spreading rumors about the police officer's
corrupt practices.
As the villagers take out their anger on Inspector Raj,
Ravi joins in on his devious plan. He went door to door playing the victim and
accused Inspector Raj of being an unscrupulous officer who stole from the very
people he was supposed to protect.
But Ravi did not know that there is a way to reveal the
truth. In the midst of all this turmoil, a wise old woman named Sarita was
quietly watching everything. Sarita was renowned for her keen insight and
intelligence.
Sarita decides to intervene and collect evidence to
expose Ravi's deceit. With his shrewd comments and astute investigation, he
exposes Ravi's conspiracy. Sarita immediately informs Inspector Raj, who is
shocked to learn of Ravi's treachery.
Inspector Raj, armed with the truth, called a public
meeting at the village square. The villagers, still convinced of his guilt,
gathered anxiously to witness the thief's downfall.
With a calm and steady voice, Inspector Raj presents the
evidence against Ravi, which exposes his lies and manipulations. The villagers
were surprised to learn that the person who had accused Inspector Raj of theft
was the real culprit.
As soon as the truth came out, the villagers realized the
irony of the situation. He understood the meaning of the proverb 'The pot is
calling the kettle black'. On the contrary, the thief Ravi scolded the honest
police officer while committing his crime.
From that day, the villagers learned to be more prudent and cautious before passing judgment. Inspector Raj's reputation is restored and Ravi is caught and brought to justice. The village of Sunderpur found peace once again and this proverb became a reminder of the consequences of hypocrisy and deceit.
